Growing up in Geyserville, CA I learned from a young age the value of making beautiful things. I am lucky to have varied creative influences from my family on both sides. My father has a background in industrial design and concept art, working in the film industry. As a kid I remember him working on the Star Wars prequels, creating beautiful scenes, buildings, and vehicles. His father was a Ford car designer. My mother brought her fluid, inky, minimalist aesthetic to her work as an illustrator and graphic designer. She comes from a family of artists as well, her grandfather being a fine artist who lived on the Greek island of Skyros. All of these influences created an upbringing full of artistic exploration and an appreciation for the process of making things, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
Alongside art, I found a love for music, picking up several instruments, singing in choirs, and drumming in bands. I studied music and composition for years but working with my hands was equally inspiring and rewarding - I wanted to create new things that drew from all my artistic experience and musical background. For me, guitar building has been the perfect answer. I trained under Barry Grzebik of Grez Guitars where I learned how to bring my ideas and visions into functional reality and design with intention. The conceptual and free thinking process I’ve learned from my family, along with Barry’s traditional and technical expertise, has helped me develop an informed and intuitive approach that I hope will show in my guitars. Making music is one of the most rewarding experiences in my opinion. I love being a part of that process and expressing its fun nature aesthetically.
